Privacy Policy

1. Information collected by the site

The site does not require an account or ask you to provide a name or email address to use the editor. However, Google Analytics is loaded on site pages. Google Analytics may receive information such as page and event activity, browser/device data, and identifiers or cookies according to Google's settings and your browser. The hosting and content-delivery providers may also process connection data such as IP address, requested URL, and user agent to serve the site and its assets.

The theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage. This preference remains on that browser until you clear it. This site does not offer user accounts or profiles.

2. Your Files Are Processed Locally

Conversion and editing run in your browser using FFmpeg WebAssembly. The selected file is read into browser memory and the generated output is created in that browser session; the editor does not send the media contents to a GIF Fast conversion server.

To make processing possible, your browser must download the editor's JavaScript and FFmpeg WebAssembly runtime. The WebAssembly core is requested from jsDelivr. Google Fonts and Google Analytics are requested by the site as well. These are ordinary network requests and those providers may receive request metadata; the selected media content is not included in those asset requests.

Output previews and temporary processing data can remain in browser memory while the editor is open. Closing or refreshing the tab releases the page's access to that in-memory work; download any result you need to keep.

3. Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies depending on its configuration and your browser settings. The site also uses local storage for the display-theme preference. Your browser may cache static site and FFmpeg runtime files. Browser controls can clear cookies, local storage, and cached files.

Blocking third-party cookies or analytics may affect measurement, but is not intended to prevent the local editor from processing a file once its runtime has loaded.

4. Analytics

We load Google Analytics (measurement ID G-704EGQ8YFQ) to measure site usage. Editor events may include the selected tool mode, input/output format, file count, outcome, and a broad failure category. Event data does not include filenames, file contents, image dimensions, caption text, or raw error messages. Analytics can also involve browser and page-interaction data. We do not use the analytics script to upload the media you select for conversion.

You can limit analytics through browser privacy controls, content blockers, or network settings. Google provides information about its processing in its own privacy documentation; those practices are governed by Google, not this policy.

5. Third-Party Services

The website uses Google Analytics, Google Fonts, and jsDelivr for the FFmpeg WebAssembly core. Cloudflare Pages may be used to deliver the site. Requests to these providers can expose standard connection metadata, including IP address, requested resource, timestamp, and browser information, under their own policies.

No selected media content is intentionally sent to these providers by the editor. This page will be updated if the services or data flows change.

6. Children's Privacy

GIF Converter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, this is not a practical concern, but we want to be explicit about it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the tool's functionality or applicable law. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will note them prominently on the homepage.

Because we do not collect email addresses, we cannot notify you directly of policy changes. We recommend bookmarking this page if staying current with policy changes matters to you.
